New Way to Reduce Stress, Improve Memory, Fight Depression and More

by Mary Lincoln

Many of us are constantly on the lookout for the newest tools for improving our mental performance, reduciing stress, attacking depression, or otherwise improving our mental state. One of the newest technologies is binaural harmonics. Binaural harmonics is based on the differing mental states of the human brain. These are beta, alpha, theta and delta, and are determined by the neuron firing rates of your brain cells.

During the day when you are awake and active you are experiencing beta state. There is a higher and lower beta state. The higher beta state is very stimulating and can be associated with anxiety, while the lower beta state is more commonly experienced when doing routine activities.

The alpha state is experienced when your body is at rest and your mind is calm, perhaps performing a mundane task. During meditation or light sleep you are experiencing theta state, and delta state is experienced during deep sleep.

Binaural harmonics uses technology to produce two tones of slightly different frequency which are then presented separately to the left and right ears via headphones. The programs are listened to while at rest in a comfortable, darkened environment. The listener perceives a single tone, known as the binaural beat. The beat provides consciousness-altering information to the brain's reticular activating system, which in turn stimulates the thalamus and cortex.

The binaural beat is used to initiate changes in brainwave activity and activate a specific function of the brain. Chosen frequencies can be used to reduce stress, increase IQ, improve memory, fight depression, alter your state of consciousness, and much more, without the side effects of many prescription medications. The potential beneficial applications of this technology are far reaching.
